  • Blue Griffon: An open-source WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) editor
  • maqetta.org: Works through your browser--there is no program to install! Try a free session for yourself or watch their video.
  • Animators, or would-be animators: Did you know, Adobe is working on their new HTML5 Flash editor, called Edge, which offers flash-quality animation support for multiple devices, including iPad and the iPhone? You can try it for free for 150 days. Check out this impressive video!
  • An honourable mention goes to EditPlus, a basic HTML4 editor, with code colouring, site profiles, and multiple-file find and replace. Try it for free (still a great text editor, and it runs perfectly on Ubuntu Linux).
